History of the Center

The Center for Student Success came to fruition in 2008 via a Title V Hispanic Serving Institution Grant. The Center collaborates with departments campus-wide to honor CSUMB's vision of serving the historically under-educated and low-income populations by building an effective and comprehensive student support infrastructure.   

Vision Statement

The Center for Student Success seeks to educate, empower and enable students to become effective and transformative leaders within and beyond the California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) community. The Center will promote the value of learning and quality performance among students and staff, increase student retention, and create successful transitions for students to become productive and responsible leaders of society.

Mission Statement

The Center for Student Success staff members strive to maintain a thriving learning community and are committed to the academic and personal success of all students.
