The Center for Student Success respects the privacy of each student in accordance with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. This means that the Center for Student Success can only release student academic information such as grades, and academic standing (GPA, academic transcript, academic warning, academic probation, or discipline records) to the student, and not to parents/legal guardians.

However, students may opt to submit a "Student Consent to Release Educational Records" form to the Office of the Registrar, which we highly recommend. FERPA regulations can often leave parents/guardians of college students feeling frustrated because they feel they need, and should have, access to student information. Completing and submitting a "Student Consent to Release Educational Records" form to the office of Registrar will increase communication between college parents and college students, making the overall experience significantly smoother for all parties involved (form must be renewed January of each year).
